Dive into the Mediterranean and discover the underwater fauna and flora thanks to an exceptional exhibition
Perched on the Rock overlooking the Mediterranean, Monaco's Oceanographic Museum captivates visitors with its architecture and collections. It's one of the Principality's must-see attractions. Inaugurated in 1910 by Prince Albert I, it fascinates young and old alike: aquarium, whale skeletons, cabinet of curiosities, exhibitions... In 2025, the immersive exhibition MEDITERRANEAN 2050 invites visitors to imagine the future of the sea. Animations, games, courses and an escape game (extra charge) complete the visit.

Opening time and information on OCEANOGRAPHIC MUSEUM OF MONACO
Open all year round. Open every day except December 25 and the F1 Grand Prix weekend at the end of May. Open from 10am to 6pm in low season, 7pm in spring. July and August from 9.30am to 8pm. Open every day. Free for children under 4. Adult: €22.50 (students: €14 / Disabled: €11). Children (aged 4 to 17): €14. Possibility of twin tickets with the car collection of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco: €28 (adult), €16.50 (students and children aged 6-17), €14 (children aged 4-5). Animals prohibited except guide dogs. Restaurant (La Terrasse du Musée océanographique). Gift store. Entertainment.

Our Aquariums
Monaco's Oceanographic Museum is home to one of the world's oldest aquariums! Dive into basins where each species contributes to a carefully recreated ecosystem. From the Mediterranean to tropical waters, from sea turtles to fluorescent coral, marvel at the richness and beauty of underwater life.
THE SHARK LAGOON
Off the coast of the coral reef, experience an unforgettable encounter with different species of shark. Their majestic ballet will make you forget the clichés! In this giant 6 m-deep aquarium, 30 cm-thick windows designed to withstand pressure guarantee a clear, faithful view of shapes and colors.
THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA
Immerse yourself in the wonders of the Mediterranean Sea with a visit full of surprises and discoveries. Did you know that some fish change sex? That the octopus is a master of camouflage? That brown groupers, sea cicadas and large mother-of-pearl are protected? Or that our oldest resident is over 60 years old? A fascinating exploration awaits you as you explore the aquariums.
TROPICAL SEAS
The coral reef, a veritable explosion of color and life, is home to an incredible diversity of species that live together, helping and protecting each other. The aquarium's tropical zone immerses you in this vibrant spectacle, where shapes and colors invite you to travel. The Oceanographic Institute is putting corals in the spotlight with a dedicated program, placing 2020 under the sign of the reef.
Sea Turtle Odyssey
The Sea Turtle Odyssey, accessible from the aquarium, invites you to follow the fascinating journey of these great travelers. By discovering their incredible odyssey, you'll become aware of their vulnerability and be encouraged to contribute to their preservation. An open-air space, between discovery and commitment.
