From Calgary on the Trans-Canada Highway, you drive a little less than 200 km east before arriving at the park gates. Dinosaur Park is like a large cemetery; it contains more than 300 dinosaurs of 35 different species. Classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1979, this nature reserve is a real paradise for amateur paleontologists. Self-guided trails and organized tours allow you to learn more about the creatures that once walked the grounds of the park. Two dinosaur skeletons can be admired at the very spot where they were discovered, as well as several excavation sites.
