RIVER NICKERY

Coming from Paramaribo, you'll surely notice the Nickerie River Bridge, a massive, imposing piece of metal in the landscape. From Nieuw Nickerie, you can take the Nickerie River upstream, a unique experience that takes you inland to discover the rich and unique natural environment offered by the river, bordered by a forest that is still wild. The Blanche Marie falls, discovered in 1897, are a popular tourist attraction inland.
