This house is a fine example of the traditional architecture typical of the Red River delta.
Tây Dang's communal house (dinh) is known for its antiquity. It would date from the 16th century, but has obviously been restored several times. It is a beautiful testimony to the traditional architecture characteristic of the Red River Delta. The dinh honours Son Tinh, the genius of the Mountain, who, according to legend, in connection with the ever-returning battle of the peasants of the delta against the floods of the Red River, defeated Thuy Tinh, the genius of the Waters.
