It's hard not to find this hotel, which is in front of the City Hall of Ghent! In a contemporary setting and lounge, you are located in one of the most beautiful hotels in the Flemish city. The four stars are, given the benefits, completely justified. Porter and valet service at the entrance, room service 24 hours a day, library, sauna, fitness, not forgetting the lounge area and the cosy bar… All 174 rooms have almost the same benefits, and are at least equipped with plasma screen. Finally, remember that the establishment even has old cellars of the th century that can be visited with a guide from the tourist office.

The hotel is being refurbished. Inevitably this means that there is some disruption. Staff were doing their best to minimise any issues and we were warmly welcomed in the converted bar which currently serves as reception. We were offered an upgrade to an executive room. It didn't merit this description. The furniture was tired and the view from the window non-existent. The location of the hotel is excellent and I look forward to returning when the works have been completed.

Superb room, view of the Belfort with the Gulden Draak. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff very helpful. It has its own carpark in the basement, which has a charge. Second time we have stayed in the hotel, highly recommend.
