This boutique-hotel is a folly built in the former central post office of Ghent in 1898. A neo-gothic castle of 38 luxurious cocoons, with a breathtaking view over Koremmarkt, under high ceilings, in dark green tones, decorated with luxurious and vintage furniture. In a drawer, letters found in the old post office and coloured pencils, on the shelves, old books... a cabinet of curiosity that creates a great atmosphere. Breakfast is served before your eyes in a room with a beautiful fireplace. A trendy lordly experience.

Super accueil, les chambres sont encore mieux qu’en en photo, la télé ne marche pas, mais ce n’est pas un problème, on nous a offert un cocktail. En contrepartie, je trouve que le service est très bien, je reviendrai dans cet hôtel ????

This is NOT a hotel. It is a shopping area and coffee shop. The coffee shop was excellent.

1898 The Post het resultaat van de 19de - eeuwse neogotische beweging om de middeleeuwse glorie van Gent te herstellen.
Tot op de dag van vandaag is 1898 The Post een poort naar de middeleeuwen.
Je kunt er logeren in één van de 38 stijlvolle ingerichte kamers en suites.
Met kamernamen als The Stamp , The Envelope of The Postcard houden de eigenaars de geschiedenis van het gebouw in eer.
Voor wie het iets meer mag zijn is er de suite in de hoektoren , met een panoramisch zicht over de stad.
