Imposing collegiate church of Saint Martin in the late Brabantine Gothic style with an altarpiece, an organ and a Eucharistic tower

This imposing, unfinished collegiate church of Saint-Martin is a fine example of Brabant's late Gothic style. Construction began around 1480 and continued until the 18th century. The great cathedral builders Herman and Domien De Waghemakere and Laurens Keldermans took part in the construction of the building. The church features the altarpiece of Saint Roch, named by Christ as the patron saint of the plague-stricken, by the great Flemish master Rubens, stained glass windows by the Casier workshop in Ghent, a Van Peteghem organ and the Eucharistic tower by Jeroen Duquesnoy.
