One of the most beautiful and colourful Belgian carnivals with processions of giants.

It is a very old tradition and one of the most famous carnivals in Belgium, not to be missed under any circumstances. The carnival begins with a colorful procession. The next day, the "dance of the brooms" by the Gilles takes place, followed by the "throwing of onions" from the top of the belfry. Nevertheless, its image has been seriously damaged recently, since the Carnival, listed as intangible heritage by UNESCO, has been - unprecedented - downgraded by the institution. The reason?
