Area with activities on the Ourthe including mountain biking, the milling museum and the bakery in the old farm of the castle of Harzé

You will find the essential activities of the Ourthe region for the whole family. With the fortified castle of Logne, a notable example of the medieval military architecture of the region and its archaeological museum. The domain offers a multitude of activities: mountain biking, kayaking, minigolf, tennis, playground, walks, falconry and catering. In the former farmhouse of the Harzé castle is the Mill and Bakery Museum with its reconstitution of a water mill. This is a nice combination to discover the best of the region!

The descent in kayaking in August and it is very nice... thrills, no rapids but a pleasant descent through beautiful landscapes...
Staying weekend in the Ardennes, we visited the castle Palogne. The site is really well kept, the very instructive and fun visit. It is possible to reach the vestiges (underground caves, stone staircase inside the castle,...). The entry fee (4€50 in 2009 including the museum) is relatively low and allows you to get a map and audioguide. The audioguide is really playful and porte us during the Middle Ages by precise explanations. Very pleasant and all boring... In short, a perfect visit. However the castle is done on foot (10 ' walk at the beginning of the domaine de Palogne) by a forest path climbs quite strong.

For the rest, the estate offers cottages and restaurants, facilities for children (sandbocs, games...). Unfortunately we did not have time to try kayaking or the flight of birds of prey.

We strongly recommend this estate for one day interesting family.
