BURIAL CHAPEL OF THE LORDS OF BOUSSU

The funeral chapel of the Lords of Boussu is adjacent to the church of Saint-Géry and contains the most beautiful group of Renaissance mausoleums in Belgium, as well as an interesting museum of religious art installed in the galleries. The mausoleum of Jean d'Alsace de Henin-Liétard (1499-1562) and his wife Anne of Burgundy, as well as the Mannerist recumbent, are particularly worth seeing. These works are attributed to the great Montois sculptor and architect Jacques Du Brœucq.
