Pieter Paul Rubens' house and studio with baroque portico, the museum exhibits a dozen of his works and some of his objects

The Rubenshuis is the perfect introduction to the churches and museums that house works by Pieter Paul Rubens. An immersive tour of the new space introduces visitors to the artist. This is followed by the Italian garden, redesigned in collaboration with fashion designer Dries van Noten. The Baroque portico separating it from the inner courtyard was designed by Rubens himself. His house and studio are currently being renovated and will reopen in 2030.

Nous avons visité l'extérieur et le jardin tout en bénéficiant d'une visite guidée architecturale : beaucoup de choses ne sont qu'une approximation. La maison a été massivement reconstruite à plusieurs reprises. Comme "indication", elle est néanmoins intéressante pour les amateurs de Rubens.

Il est préférable de se procurer des billets à l'avance sur Internet ou via l'Antwerp City Card. Il y avait vraiment beaucoup de monde. Les grands sacs et les sacs à dos doivent être enfermés dans un casier (gratuit). La visite se fait de manière autonome avec un appareil audio. Je trouve ça génial. On peut écouter ou non plusieurs choses sur chaque pièce. Il y a beaucoup d'explications et la maison est vraiment géniale. L'entrée vaut vraiment chaque centime.

Seul le jardin que vous êtes désormais autorisé à visiter, un film est projeté au sous-sol du nouveau centre d'accueil. Il y a des écrans interactifs.
