From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah.... On the muddy banks of the Wishkah River, where Kurt Cobain grew up, a memorial is now in place to preserve the memory of the grunge music icon, leader of the mythical group Nirvana (1987-1994).
A few years ago, the fan committee had the city install a plaque under the Young Street Bridge, a pilgrimage place for fans since the bridge is mentioned in the song Something in the way. The plaque, amidst countless graffiti celebrating the band and its missing singer, quotes a phrase from Cobain: "Drugs are bad for you, they will fuck you up". Since then, a sculpture of the singer's guitar has stood beside the bridge, a panel recalls the lyrics of Something in the way and a plaque on the floor contains some of the musician's quotes. For unconditional fans.
