FRUIT PARK - 12 TREES PROJECT
Read moreA visit to do for fruit and plant lovers. Ken Love, one of the archipelago's largest arborists, founded this educational garden on Hawaii's fruit trees more than 10 years ago. At the beginning, only 12 trees were planted, which is why the park is also called "12 Trees Project". Today, there are about sixty of them. Ken is trying to reintroduce endemic fruits from Hawaii. He reintroduced a local banana species, called "lahilahi", which had completely disappeared from the region and has been developing smoothly in the park for several years. It is forbidden to pick fruit, but if you want to participate in a tasting session, call Ken and arrange an appointment. He will be happy to make you taste the specialities of his garden! Some fruits are really amazing, such as Rollinia Deliciosa with its crème brûlée taste!
