Eden has a long history of whaling and is recognized as the premier whale watching center in New South Wales. You can organize whale watching trips in Twofold Bay. The locality is also famous for its orcas, nicknamed "Eden's Killers", which assisted whalers in the whale hunt in the late 19th century. Finally, Eden is also an excellent starting point to visit Ben Boyd National Park. Located 5 miles north or south, depending on which section of the park you wish to visit, this coastal park offers great hiking options.
