MEMOS TANTUNI

Some say it's the best place in town to eat the local specialty, but only this one: tantuni! It's a kind of "taco" made from chunks of ground beef sprinkled with spices, tomatoes, onions and parsley pan-fried before being wrapped in a flatbread patty, lavaş, which originated in Armenia. The Memoş restaurant may not look like much, but it remains a must-try known all over the country since 1964. Don't hesitate to accompany it with an ayran, the favorite drink of Turks.
