I stayed at this hotel for a work conference and this hotel charged me an additional $200+ on my credit card in error. I have spoken to multiple representatives at this hotel and also spoke to Marriott customer service and they advised that they would look into refunding my card. It still has not been refunded back from 2022. I am very unsatisfied with this hotel.
Parking structure was horrible, there's signs they have hidden that if you park on the floor they scam you out of $70 (cash only of course). Building itself is pretty enough but maze just to find the front desk is a pain if you park. Service was grudging. Restaurant folks were friendly and helpful at least. Took 3 orders before they found something they actually had in stock though. Room was unexceptional but serviceable.
Everything felt worn down and uncared for. The receptionist had this awful computer system that took him forever to find my room I had reserved, the keyboard was worn smooth it had been used for so long. Clearly this place gets no investment.
I would not recommend staying here. Rooms need to be renovated. The mattress was a sub $99 noisy innerspring that would make noise as you moved. This made for an uncomfortable nights sleep. The air conditioner worked but made strange noises. Large gaps under the door let in light and noise from the hallway. Not worth $200+ per night. Do note the additional charges for parking ($26) that remind you you’re in the present while you sleep in a room from about 2001.
My husband and I stayed at this location for one night on 3/16. While the hotel itself is fine and convenient, the administrative issues are not.
Despite booking and staying for one night, the front desk admittedly, accidentally charged for two nights
I understand human error, but what I don’t understand is the lack of responsiveness and accountability when we tried to get this issue resolved. Like we should just look past it.
He called for days with no reply to have the transaction reversed. When he finally did receive a response, there was no apology, no offer to reverse the transaction, compensate for false additional night…nothing in spite of them clearly seeing the error.
I’ve since called my bank to open the investigation but wish this could have been solved by the front desk or Marriott customer service so I wouldn’t have to write this review.
The GM Mary is a very rude lady, from the way she treats her staff to the way she ignores or is rude to guest. I brought a coffee at the Starbucks and was having a chat with the barista she told me to leave so she can attend to other customers when I was the only customer at that time. The restaurant food is undercooked and overpriced and the rooms are moldy and outdated . Worse experience ever
I stayed here on March 10th 1 night . I was in town for the Katt Williams comedy show. it was a nice hotel that's why I gave it 4 stars and it was near the Uno Lake Arena which is where the comedy show was. only 2 problems I had was valet parking. I didn't like that if you pay for valet and you come back after 10 p.m you have to park your own car in the parking garage because valet close over night and when you leave out the parking garage with your car they make you pay 20$ before exiting. valet parking is 26$ already. 2nd problem I had was the Deluxe room which was big and nice and the view was nice but the king size bed we had was the hardest mattress I have ever slept on in a hotel before. I don't know why they bed was so hard. but other than that the stay was okay I wouldn't stay at this Marriott no more just because of the beds but if you don't mind a hard mattress then this hotel is for you.
Good location if you drive but I prefer downtown. Staff is very professional and considerate here but they do not wash their sheets enough. My pillows smelled bad from another person’s use (I recognize the scent). It’s not horrible but definitely not what I’d expect from a Marriott. That aside the view we had was amazing. Got to watch the sunset in clear unobstructed view.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful but the rooms are so so so outdated. The coffee maker and hair dryer did not work at all! The bed still has springs and unstable legs of the bed. I can’t believe beds like this are still being used. When we sat at the end of the bed the top lifted. Hard springy mattress and we needed non feather pillows and the 2 they brought us were lumpy, thin and separated. We were so disappointed in the room. Now let me say this… the downstairs is beautiful and the outside looks great. The guy at the front desk didn’t even acknowledge us when we walked up. He was checking a person in but never even looked up to say anything. We stood there for 20 minutes at the very least and we finally stepped away and did the mobile app. check in.
The man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room wasn't the cleanest and the conditioner was actually empty. There's also no fridge in the room. Parking was $15 per night.
Paid extra for a “Lake View”. It wasn’t (see photo), and when I went I asked about the mistake was told if I went up to the window and looked far left you can see the corner of the lake, which apparently Marriott felt is worth charging people money for.
The hotel is in very rough shape- duct tape is holding some of the carpet down in the hallways and there is hardened gum stuck to the carpet on the elevators. The furniture in the room is in similar condition. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a dump, but there have definitely been nicer 2 star hotels I have stayed in, and had it not been after 10:00pm when we checked in I would have left and stayed at the holiday inn nearby. Apparently the hotel is about to undergo a major renovation, unfortunately they’re still charging people as if it’s a 4 star hotel, which it definitely isn’t.
In the past I’ve gone out of my way to stay at Marriott properties, now I’ll go out of my way to avoid them.
2 years ago I left a bad review because of the valet drivers, but I am updating my rating. It seems like the current valets are a lot better. Thank you Marriott!
