SUMAS

Located on the campus of Southern University at Shreveport, this museum is dedicated to African and African-American art and culture. Its permanent collection of African art includes works and artifacts from many countries such as Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Mali and Nigeria. African American art is drawn from the rich collection of the Southern University Museum of Art in Baton Rouge. The museum also offers special exhibitions featuring local, regional and national artists.
