Maissade is a little lost from the Central Plateau, at the crossing of 3 rivers, that you must cross to get there. If you go there, it is worth visiting the small rum distillery of the brand Ethiquable that has recently settled there. We must also note the success of a successful initiative: the Federation of Women's Associations of Maïssade (FAM), with its 3 000 members, which organizes fruit processing workshops, two cassaveries and a bakery. Its annual turnover amounts to over million flasks and has been responsible for providing breakfasts for thousands of pupils in schools, paying school to students, and providing legal assistance to women victims of violence.
