GANESH TEKRI

This hilltop temple is dedicated to the elephant god, one of the few in Rajasthan. The beautiful idol is placed in a niche under a beautifully carved marble dome. If the climb into the forest is a bit rough, the view from the temple over the plain and the Aravelli mountains is splendid. Just after the monsoon, the basins that dot the rise form pretty water games and are soothing stops to take a breath of fresh air. You can always throw a coin in there and make a wish, like the locals do. Maybe Ganesh will exculpate him.
