This cave containing fossilized algae was discovered on August 22, 2003 by Nemecio Copa and Pelagio Huayta
Discovered on August 22, 2003 by Nemecio Copa and Pelagio Huayta, this cave contains fossilized algae, or more exactly amazing limestone formations that were created by the solidification of magma in contact with water. Next to it, we discover an interesting cemetery of chullpas(Cueva del Diablo, pre-Inca tombs). A small path sown with petrified cactus that look like corals leads to a superb mirador offering a nice 360° view on the surroundings (including the Salar in the distance). Toilets accessible at the bottom.
