Dijon seen from above: climb the towers!

Ready to take the high road? You will have to climb the 316 steps to reach its summit at 46 m high. The visit lasts 45 minutes, always accompanied by a guide. Built between 1450 and 1460 by the architect Jean Poncelet, the Tower had a symbolic role of affirmation of the ducal power rather than a defensive one. A spiral staircase leads to the terrace overlooking the city and is decorated with a flamboyant gothic style railing. From June to October, contemplate the city with a glass in hand with the aperitifs of the Tower.

Un superbe point de vue sur la ville de Dijon et une vraie plongée dans l'histoire des Ducs de Bourgogne. La guide était très sympathique. Il y a 316 marches mais elle se montent assez facilement. Incontournable.

Je n'ai pas gravi les escaliers de cette tour historique,mais rentrée dans la cour de Bar pour profiter d'une belle terrasse,dans un superbe décor pour boire un jus de fruits avant de reprendre la rue de la Liberté pour rentrer à la maison.

The view is nice, the guided tour is only valuable if you speak french. Otherwise you get a few sentences but not much. The tour guide is not flexible. So if you are more than 2 people make sure to book in advance. We were a group of 7 and 1 of us, saying again 1 of us had to take another tour group.

Les 316 marches valent vraiment le coup d'être gravies tant la vue à l'arrivée est exceptionnelle. Visite accompagnée par un guide très professionnel et intéressante où l'on apprend tout. Je recommande, pour un prix modique de 5 euros.
