Its "ghost town" label still sticks to it. It must be said that it represents the great symbol of American deindustrialization, even leading it to its own bankruptcy in 2013. But Detroit has been undergoing a metamorphosis in recent years, starting with the occupation of its many vacant lots, which have now been transformed into urban agriculture sites. Several formerly uninhabitable neighborhoods are now the lungs of a bubbling cultural life. Street art, which is omnipresent throughout the city, also bears witness to a vitality that is on display at every street corner. And we can't ignore the large African-American community, which is very present in the culinary, arts and culture scene. While some neighborhoods are developing at a rapid pace, the task remains daunting in most of the city. But nothing is impossible, and Detroit has understood this.
