Built in 1928 and completed in 1929, this Art Deco building was designed by architect Wirt C. Rowland. Today, it is the headquarters of the Wayne County government. A must-see is the lobby, with its Mayan Revival-inspired design and colorful Pewabic tile ceiling, not to mention the breathtakingly beautiful Banking Hall. Many of the interior and exterior ornaments are also inspired by American Indians, and two sculptures by artist Corrado Parducci adorn the Griswold Street entrance.
