Built in 1907, it was the meeting place of the Saint Andrew's Scottish Society of Detroit. It wasn't until the 1980s that the place took on its true vocation as a performance venue. Since then, big names in music have performed there, including Iggy Pop, Bob Dylan, Nirvana, R.E.M., Pearl Jam, Adele and Eminem. It's also one of the best places in town to see independent music and emerging artists. Saint Andrew's Hall also has asecond, more intimate venue, The Shelter, located just below.
