Open since 1935 in a building designed by Albert Kahn and built by the Campeau family, Cliff Bell's bears the name of its founder, John Clifford Bell, a well-known figure during the Prohibition era for the many speakeasies he owned. Closed between 1985 and 2005, Cliff Bell's is now run by new owners who are well known on the nightlife scene. The bar presents live shows and is renowned for its high-quality jazz scene, hushed ambience and excellent cuisine.
