Church founded in 1066 by dona Mayor that marks the culmination of the Romanesque style in the province of Palencia in Fromista

The history of this beautifully proportioned Romanesque church dates back to the 11th century. Founded in 1066 by Doña Mayor, Countess of Castile, the church marks the peak of the Romanesque style in the province of Palencia. It is a three-nave construction with barrel vaults and double arches. Its facade is flanked by two circular towers that give the building a special appearance, as well as the 13th-century Gothic crucifix inside.

L'un de plus beaux exemplaires d'art roman en Espagne, cette église mérite vraiment la visite. Même si d'extérieur pourrait paraître petite, l'intérieur est ample et majestueux. Vous pourrez y découvrir de beaux chapiteaux historiés et végétaux avec leur interprétation pour certains d'entre eux.
