ORBAITZETA ARMS FACTORY

Built on the old forge on the Aezkoa Pass to supply the army with arms and ammunition, the Royal Arms and Ammunition Factory of Orbaitzeta was in operation from 1784 to 1884. Being very close to the French border (5 km), it was looted, set on fire and taken several times until it was definitively abolished in the 19th century. Today, its ruins devoured by vegetation are a fine example of the industrial architecture of the time.
