BIBLICAL TAMAR PARK - HATZEVA FORTRESS

This archaeological site was once located on the caravan road. Its location would correspond to that of the biblical Tamar quoted in the book of Ezekiel. The remains of the first fortress located in the 6 different strata uncovered dates back to the th or th century BC, the time of the kingdom of Judah. A caravanserai and Roman baths were subsequently built on the premises. The last roving occupation of the Arab period in the th and th centuries BC.
