On the Tatín river, there is a handicraft store and a restaurant that partly finance this association created in 1992 to support the sustainable development of the Q'eqchi' villages of the area. Until a few years ago, the communities did not have access to health care or education: thanks to the help of international organizations and private donations, this is now the case. In addition to supporting Ak' Tenamit, a stop in the store is an opportunity to meet students who are attending school in the area, thanks to the project.
