Built from 1675, this basilica preserves one of the jewels of Catalan Baroque painting, the Capella dels Dolors.

Built from 1675 onwards, this basilica houses one of the jewels of Catalan Baroque, the Capella dels Dolors. This magnificent chapel is decorated with a series of paintings by Antoni Viladomat, one of the greatest Catalan painters of the first half of the 18th century, created between 1722 and 1737, and whose restoration was completed in 2016. A striking pietà, featuring the Virgin with her heart pierced by seven swords, sits above the altar.
