Known to be one of the most dangerous waves in the world, the Teahupoo wave is a surfer's dream. Every year in August, it hosts the Tahiti Pro Teahupo'o competition, the 7th stage out of 11 of the World Surf League's Elite SURF Championship. In 2024, the surfing events of the Olympic Games will be held there! The amateurs can also admire it by hiring a hiker or a taxi-boat. For hikers, Teahupoo, which marks the end of the Presqu'ile road, is also the starting point for expeditions to Vaipoiri cave and the Pari cliffs, for which a guide is mandatory.
