The Golden Buddha Resort has become the Baba Ecolodge. Located on Phra Thong Island, north of Khao Lak. If you are looking for a quiet place, far from any night agitation, a deserted beach, a natural environment, wild animals, this is the place to stay. The place has however a small restaurant which proposes fresh and local food, the sea products are bought from the fishermen of the corner, the bread is made on the spot. A charming staff, most of them are native of the island.

Do not get there if you are looking for a lively nightlife - this is total though comfortable escape from the modern world! However, if you like deserted beaches and has lush and natural environment with plenty of wildlife, then this is for you. The resort has clubhouse with bar and restaurant (romantic At night for dining, bright and breezy in the morning for breakfast) serving year all day menu with daily specials and full 3 course evening menu. All the food is fresh and possible as much as sourced on the island (most of the fish and sea food is bought from local fishermen, the bread is home baked daily) with good vegetarian options. The staff is 95% of the island, is extremely friendly. There is probably nothing else like it throughout Thailand.
