Khao Lak is in fact a group of 4 villages established along Phet Kasem Road, the 2 main ones being : Baan La On, nicknamed Khao Lak Town, in the south of the bay, and Bang Niang, 2 km to the north. The place is peaceful and the beaches are quite beautiful: the one of Nang Thong has a nice photogenic lighthouse, in its extension is the one of Bang Niang. Baan La On is the city center of Khao Lak, where most of the shops and establishments are located. Bang Niang also concentrates several lodging possibilities along the beach and proposes a more developed offer of restoration than in Baan La On.
