Founded in the XVᵉ century by the Chancellor of the Dukes of Burgundy Nicolas Rolin and his wife Guigone de Salins, this flamboyant Gothic-style Hôtel-Dieu is today a museum dedicated to Burgundy and medieval medicine in the Christian West. The museum presents the old wards, how they functioned and the history of the hospital from its foundation to the 20th century. Visitors can also admire exceptional works such as Rogier van der Weyden's Last Judgement polyptych and monumental 17th-century paintings by Isaac Moillon. The museum also houses an impressive collection of tapestries and chests from the 15th to 17th centuries.
