Site with Anasazi ruins and a building with over a hundred rooms, start of the Wupatki Pueblo Trail behind the Visitor Center
This site is home to several Anasazi ruins. In the 11th century, the Indians settled on this land fertilized by volcanic ash deposited during eruptions from nearby Sunset Crater Volacano. The Wupatki Pueblo Trail (45-minute round-trip walk) begins behind the Visitor Center. You'll see a building with over a hundred rooms, the largest structure on the site. The scenic route is shared with Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument
