Things to see and do Black Canyon Of The Gunnison National Park

The park is full of nature activities such as rafting, climbing, horse riding, kayaking. More information on the website or the Visitor Center.

If you have only a few hours to spend exploring the park, take advantage of the numerous walks and views to discover along the road. The most accessible and most accessible part of the park is South Rim. After a visit to the Visitor Center, explore the park on foot (several more or less long trails) or by car.

Gunnison Point, right next to the Visitor Center, an unavoidable stop.

Pulpit Rock Overlook, one of the most beautiful views diving on the canyon.

Painted Wall View, a panorama on the striped cliffs of magmatic rocks that appear to have been painted.

Warner Point. If you only have to walk, this short 2.5 km round trip offers beautiful panoramic views of the canyon but also the San Juan and Uncompahgre Valley mountains.

East Portal Road. The scenic road in the south-east of the park (which ends with a cul-de-sac) provides access to the river, offering all the wonderful views of the southern part of the park. Attention, closed road in winter.
