A museum trail through the Rocca Aldobrandesca to understand Arcidosso's heritage, from its origins to the Renaissance.
The Rocca Aldobrandesca is one of the best-preserved and oldest medieval castles in Italy (10th century). Today, the site hosts events and ceremonies, as well as a museum that immerses visitors in the history of Arcidosso and its heritage. Among the various exhibitions is an archaeological and artistic trail dedicated to the fortifications of the Amiata. From here, you can reach the 28 m-high tower. Or a section dedicated to David Lazzaretti (1834-1878), in the medieval rooms, the mystical "prophet of the Amiata".
