BISON RESERVE (ZUBRIA ZVERNICA)

In the Tribeč mountain range, about 10 km from Topoľčianky, this reserve, founded in 1958, aims to save the European mountain bison species from extinction. There were only 150 individuals left in 1963. Within a protected park of 150 ha, they live in an area of 27 ha arranged in 4 parts. Coming here is a unique opportunity to approach the largest animal on the continent (1.90 m high, 2.70 m long and 1.5 tonnes in weight!)
