BECKOV CASTLE (BECKOVSKÝ HRAD)

The ruins of the imposing Beckov Castle are magnificent. Probably built in 1208, it passed into the hands of the rich Stibor family in the 14th century, who already owned many other castles. Besieged by the Turks in 1599, who failed to invade this fortress. The castle then lost its role as a fortified town in the region after the fire of 1729. The well-preserved remains of this great fortress are worth a visit.
