LAKE SREBARNA

This lake is protected as a nature reserve, mainly for the varieties of migratory birds that pass through it. The reserve covers 600 ha and is home to 150 species of protected wetland birds, including pelicans and wild geese. There are also 6 species of fish, turtles, snakes, and abundant vegetation (rushes, water lilies, aquatic lentils, etc.). This reserve has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The site is served by regular buses from Silistra. A very beautiful discovery.
