Superb 8 km canyon near Jajce. Not to be discovered by rafting (the Vrbas is too calm here), but by following the road.
This canyon (Kanjon Podmilačje/Кањон Подмилачје) stretches for 8 km between the Jajce II dam (17 km north of Jajce) and Motel Mandiko (45 km south of Banja Luka). The waters here are too calm for rafting. But the scenery is splendid, as you can discover by following the M16 national road: the Vrbas draws superb meanders between narrow limestone walls up to 500 m high. The canyon owes its name to the great Catholic sanctuary of Podmilačje (9 km south-east of the dam), located near Jajce, on the banks of the Vrbas.
