Zip Line Fortica
Tyrolean traverse starting at 500 m above sea level and running 1,000 m along Mostar-Est. Two routes, 530 m and 470 m long.
Created in 2018, this zip line (Zip Line Fortica) is located 6 km east of Mostar city center, along the winding road leading to Podvelež. It takes you 1,000 m along the edge of Mostar's old town, suspended from a rope. The starting point is at an altitude of 500 m, just above the panoramic site of Fortica, marked by a large flag of Bosnia-Herzegovina and the inscription "BIH VOLIMO TE" overlooking the eastern part of Mostar. Two routes are possible. One to the south, 530 m long, the other to the north, 470 m long, with a maximum speed of 90 km/h. Both finish points are located on former Italian fortifications dating from the Second World War. Each departure is preceded by a short training session, instructions in English and a trial run on a 20 m-long zip line. Safety equipment (helmet, harness) is provided, and tandem courses with an instructor are possible. The return trip by vehicle to the starting point is included in the price. The activity is supervised by MBTA Mostar, a mountain bike association. The association also has a via ferrata with a 70 m-long monkey bridge called Đavolje Stepenice ("Devil's Stairs") above the Blagaj cliffs. The association also offers mountain bike and electric bike hire, supervised climbing and abseiling sessions and on-site accommodation in a former Italian bunker.
