Visit the lighthouse of La Mola and admire an informative exhibition on the relationship between man and the sea in Formentera
It dominates a steep cliff, 192 m above sea level. Built in 1859 to watch over the eastern end of the island, La Mola lighthouse was closed to the public for a long time. The interior of the building, now beautifully restored, houses the Espai cultural i educatiu Far de la Mola, which presents an informative exhibition on the relationship between man and the sea in Formentera. At the foot of the lighthouse, a commemorative plaque recalls that this mysterious place inspired the famous Jules Verne and Hector Servadac's adventures through the Solar System.
