Stone-built house offering comfortable rooms, some with sea views.

This stone house, built in 1997 facing the ocean, seems designed to withstand all storms. The boss, Phil Fenwick, was a lieutenant colonel in the air force and was in charge of training at the ultra-sensitive base near Bredasdorp. The Agulhas Country Lodge has about ten comfortable rooms, some of which have a sea view. The lodge also has a restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Dine by the fireplace under the candelabra, before leaning back at the wooden bar for a nightcap.

Situé à quelques kilomètres de Cape Agulhas où se séparent les eaux de l’Océan Indien et de l’Atlantique, l’établissement se reconnaît par sa construction toute en pierres apparentes, comme pour braver les tempêtes. Les chambres sont plaisantes, certaines avec une petite terrasse et vue sur l’océan. Parking privé. Pour le dîner j’ai apprécié l’entrée légère au saumon et le plat végétarien à la présentation originale, épicé juste ce qu’il faut. Bonne cave de vins du pays. Le petit déjeuner est servi sous forme de buffet. Jetez un œil sur la décoration originale et vous en aurez l’explication par Phil Fenwick. Voici une adresse à recommander.
