The historic cathedral dates back to 1690, but was destroyed by a fire in 1902. The current building dates back to 1905 and 1907. The interior architecture is characteristic of the Basque churches with its higher galleries, and its stained glass windows date back to the beginning of the th century, which was installed shortly after its reconstruction. Only those in the transept date back to 1967, which was unveiled during the passage of General de Gaulle, who was the donor.
