A 220-hectare private reserve located some 20 minutes' drive from Bijagua. This tropical rainforest is protected by bird guide Donald Varela (from Casitas Tenorio), Melvin Rodriguez and their families. Tapir Valley is a place of great beauty, untouched by mass tourism. Visits are accompanied. Morning outings are more geared to observing birds and flora, while night outings offer the chance to see insects, reptiles, amphibians, and perhaps the famous tapir, which wanders mostly at night.
