The Protea by Marriott Hotel Mossel Bay is a 4-star hotel located in Mossel Bay. It is just a 6-minute walk from Santos Beach and offers views of Mossel Bay harbor. The hotel is also close to Mossel Bay Golf Club and Gondwana Game Reserve. Rooms are simple but comfortable, most with lake views. They are equipped with free Wi-Fi, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Duplex suites feature a separate living room and kitchen. The hotel offers breakfast at an additional cost, and features a seafood restaurant, cocktail bar with terrace and outdoor pool. Services and facilities include free Wi-Fi, parking, air conditioning and laundry service. The hotel is popular for its location close to the beach, shops and tourist attractions.

Advertising
Personal welcome and accompaniment to the room. Welcome fruit juice. A pleasant, modern room (vague sea views, buildings in front of and no balcony, some superior rooms yes seems-til). Correct Wireless (to be renewed hours!!!). Preparation for the night: curtains, light and sweets. Bar terrace overlooking the sea in the distance. Restaurant and efficiency of the excellent service (generally the service is very slow in South Africa). Very good breakfast on the terrace.
Small found faults: no reading light on the left side of the bed and beautiful walk-in shower with mixing valve but whose ferry is on the same level as the tiled floor where a pool. Parking (easy) in the street.
On the other hand for a tourist trip from abroad, the city is not great: industries outside, not very pleasant dead centre with many shops closed in February. Nothing on the harbour, moreover it is a small cul de sac compared to the N2.
The Council: If you have the Prokard menu to explore (free nights and especially -50% on meals) are other Protéa hotels in Knysna), Port Elisabeth (well), King George with George (well), Oudhshoorn (basic and not expensive), Hermanus (Arabella, luxury), Stellenboch or Franshooek (motel).

One way: Port Elisabeth- Knysna- George or Oudhhoorn-Road 62 rather than the N2 Montagu-Swellendam-Hermanus (Cape Agulhas)- Stellenboch or Franskhoock
Buckle: Capetown (Breakwater Hotel will waterfront with free parking), one-way and return by R62, or go by the N2 and Hermanus (faster but monotonous).
