The restaurant occupies the former shipyard of the island (karnagio, in Greek), a huge room made entirely of stone, very high on the ceiling, where the boats were built. If this indoor room is pleasant, you should know that there is also a "waterfront" terrace, located on a beach sheltered from most winds. You will taste here a Mediterranean cuisine of French, Italian, Moroccan and of course Greek inspiration. A la carte: aubergine stew, lemon and coriander chicken or caramelized carrots... and good Greek wines as an accompaniment. Run by a French woman, this restaurant also offers homemade desserts and a familiar musical selection, including Brassens.

Nous avons découvert ce restaurant en 2013 et sommes revenus l'an dernier. Quel plaisir de manger à l'écart du port de Katapola (en face), les pieds presque dans l'eau ... Accueil plus qu'agréable d'une française installée là depuis 18 ans. Les plats proposés changent des autres restaurants et sont d'une fraîcheur impeccable. A recommander !!
This summer we went several times to eat at Karamel. In addition to pleasure to eat facing the bay of Katapola under the tamaris, at the waterfront, in a shady atmosphere, we can discover local life thanks to the large island Armelle experience. For all those who control no English or Greek a stop at Armelle " the French " impose yourself. It will make you have the Island and its inhabitants.
If you want to change traditional Greek taverns " for touristes" and to offer less fresh Mediterranean culinary touch " in France" I advise you to a bite to eat Karamel, in the shade of a pergola recently. This small restaurant is close to the port Katapola but in an area strangely abandoned by tourists. And it is very nice .....
Welcome all carefully in a place that face the sea and the port, will delight lovers of good food, inventive and colourful. the conversations favoured tables tables, music rocks you with the seasons mood Armelle, the restaurateurs, among other things keeps its secret recipe suculente lemonade house...! long life has this small haven!
