PIGEON ISLANDS
Two small islands opposite the black sandy beach of Malendure, home to the Cousteau Reserve, a favorite with divers.
These two small islands opposite the black sandy beach of Malendure are managed by the ONF Guadeloupe, which became the heart of the National Park in 2010. The area is home to the famous "Réserve Cousteau", a nature reserve that attracts many divers every year. Although rich in vegetation, the islets are mainly attractive for diving. The waters are clear and the incredible marine fauna can be observed from the very first metre of depth! However, the coral reef is deteriorating due to global warming and tourism.
