A trip to Tanjung Dawai village allows you to explore a more authentic Malaysia. The narrow road is crowded with goats and cows, sheep and chickens. Once in the village, you can rent a motor boat to explore the bay, its mangroves and Merdeka beach. The main quay (Pengkalan Bot-Tambang) is surrounded by wooden houses with mud pits where to eat. At the end of the day, the inhabitants go to the beach to admire the sun falling into the water and setting the sky and sea ablaze.
